Our Centre of Excellence for Cutflowers in Thally has a state-of-the-art physical infrastructure designed to advance the cut flower industry. With modern greenhouses, advanced irrigation systems, and specialized research facilities, we provide a world-class environment for cut flower cultivation, innovation, and training. This infrastructure supports growers, researchers, and industry professionals in enhancing flower quality, yield, and sustainability.
Administrative Building
The Administrative Building serves as the central hub of the Centre of Excellence, housing key offices, meeting spaces, and coordination units that support the efficient management and development of horticultural activities and training programs.
Poly Green House
Our poly greenhouse at the Centre of Excellence, Hosur in Thally, is a state-of-the-art facility designed for high-quality cut flower cultivation. With climate control, efficient irrigation, and pest management, it ensures optimal growth for flowers like roses, carnations, and gerberas. This innovation enhances productivity and strengthens Hosur’s position as a leading floriculture hub in India.
Nursery Shadenet
The Nursery Black Shadenet at our Centre of Excellence in Thally provides a controlled environment for growing cut flower seedlings by reducing light intensity, lowering temperature, and protecting young plants from harsh weather, ensuring healthy and uniform growth.
Tissue Culture Unit
The Centre of Excellence for Cutflowers has created a Tissue Culture Unit as part of its physical infrastructure, with 1 number of this unit available. Utilizing earthworms for bio-decomposition, the unit produces high-quality organic manure that enhances soil health and supports eco-friendly farming practices. This initiative not only promotes waste-to-wealth concepts but also serves as a demonstration model for farmers and trainees.
Pre-cooling unit
The Pre-Cooling Unit at our Centre of Excellence (CoE) plays a crucial role in preserving the freshness and extending the vase life of harvested cut flowers. This specialized unit rapidly removes field heat from freshly cut blooms, helping to maintain their quality, appearance, and shelf life during storage and transportation.
Bio control and Bio fertilizer laboratory
The Bio Control and Bio Fertilizer Laboratory at the Centre of Excellence, Thally, is equipped to produce and test eco-friendly agricultural inputs aimed at promoting sustainable farming. This facility focuses on the development of bio-control agents for pest and disease management and bio-fertilizers to enhance soil fertility and plant nutrition. It supports farmers with safe, cost-effective alternatives to chemical inputs, fostering healthier crops and environmental balance.
Mist chamber
The Mist Chamber at our Centre of Excellence in Thally creates a controlled humid environment ideal for the propagation of cuttings and seedlings. It ensures optimal moisture levels, promoting healthy root development and high survival rates in horticultural plants.
