Orchid cultivation is a significant activity at the Centre of Excellence for Cutflowers (CoE) in Thally, part of the Indo-Israel Agriculture Project. Orchids are listed as one of the primary cutflowers cultivated at the CoE.

Specific techniques mentioned for Orchid cultivation include Sprinkler irrigation for Dendrobium Orchids under poly green houses. The CoE is also actively demonstrating Soil-less cultivation for Orchids using Coconut Husk under the Poly green house, identifying it as a new technology being developed.
